Cross-court

Straining to reach the cross court shot her entire body is energy and motion. Her smile is confident for imminent success, but also an affirmation she was caught looking by her opponent. Straining to reach the cross court shot her entire body is energy and motion. Her smile is confident for imminent success, but also an affirmation she was caught looking by her opponent. Crosscourt is a bronze sculpture of a female tennis player running crosscourt to return a ball.

The sculpture was created in oil-based clay and cast into bronze using the classical lost wax technique. Bronze is an extremely durable metal and features many beautiful patina possibilities – the coloring of the bronze. Similarly, the green marble base can be changed to another color marble such as red to simulate a clay tennis court.
